Meet The Team

Caitlin Yilmazer, LPCC

Program Director

Caitlin is the director of the Gender Program and Chief Operating Officer of Waybridge Counseling. Caitlin has 7+ years of training in gender and sexuality studies and trains local licensed professionals. She developed master's level courses for trans* counseling and LGBTQ* counseling at Xavier University, and is regularly a guest speaker at mental health counseling programs at regional universities. Caitlin has contracted with local organizations to serve the trans* community and continues professional development through scholarly writing.

Kristen Oldiges, LPC

Kristen has been working with trans* clients for the majority of her career. Kristen has completed trans* counseling workshops developed by Caitlin Yilmazer. Kristen has a special interest in working with couples and families who have a loved one in the transition process. Working within the family system and the individual can helped to provide support and education throughout the transition process.

Katie Long, LPC

Katie has been working with clients who are beginning to explore their gender identity or who are transitioning for most of her time as an intern at Waybridge. She has completed a trans counseling workshop developed by Caitlin Yilmazer, and has worked to increase her knowledge and advocacy of trans and LGBTQ+ populations in her free time. Katie’s passion for and interest in working with gender and sexuality was sparked in her undergraduate studies at Ball State University and has continued to grow throughout her internship. Katie is excited to be part of the Waybridge Center for Gender Actualization, and has a special interest in working with partners of individuals who are transitioning and helping them learn how to support their partner or spouse through psychoeducation and enlisting empathy in one another.

Lorna Douglas, LPC

Lorna Douglas is a licensed professional counselor and Certified Wellness Counselor who has been practicing counseling in the Cincinnati area for over two years.  Lorna's interest in gender and sexuality began during her graduate coursework at Xavier University, where she became a Safe Zone Ally in 2012.  She became certified in Wellness Counseling after undergoing an intensive certification process and hopes to incorporate a Wellness approach in her work with LGBTQ* and trans* counseling.  Lorna is excited to be a part of the Waybridge Center for Gender Actualization.

Meet The Team

Dave Brewer, LPCC

Dave's focus is with individuals seeking wholeness and wellness and with individuals and families in transition. He is an experienced professional trainer and has presented workshops across the country. His work includes organizational development and the design and implementation of dynamic training programs for professionals and members of families experiencing stress and change. Dave has had the opportunity to interact with families as mediator, child and family therapist, and group parent for abused and neglected teens. Dave joined Beech Acres Parenting Center in 1986, where he contributed to the development of a group intervention model, The Boys and Girls Group About Divorce that has received national acclaim. He has been interviewed on TV and radio for his expertise in helping families cope with change.  Dave is a former president of the Greater Cincinnati Counseling Association.

Dr. Butch Losey, LPCC-S

Dr. Butch Losey is the Chief Executive Officer of Waybridge Counseling and supporting facilitator of the Center for Gender Actualization. In addition to aiding program development, Dr. Losey has interest in supporting transitioning couples.

Requirements for our Team:

In order to maintain competency for the ever-changing needs of this population, our team has ongoing requirements for maintaining quality of care:

  • Training in all phases of development of gender nonconforming individuals: adults, adolescence, and children. 

  •  Training in transition families and the unique needs of supporting adults.

  • Monthly team meetings.

  • Regular case consultation with the team.

  • Routine mandatory trainings to remain current.

  • Understanding the difference in nonbinary and binary identities and how this impacts unique needs. 

  • Maintain and stay up to date of the assessment and diagnostic process.

  • Our team requires clinicians of our program to engage in advocacy for the community.
