About the workshop...

The aim of this training is to provide a framework for clinicians to use when navigating the entanglement of trauma and grief. Through this training, participants will gain understanding in the complexities of traumatic grief, current models of grief, and ways to assess and accurately diagnose traumatic grief. Participants will walk away with tools that they can use in their own practice to help clients who are experiencing traumatic, sudden, and stigmatized losses.

About the presenter...

 

Rebecca (Becky) Strayer, MA, LPCC-S, is a licensed supervising professional clinical counselor and a certified grief counselor. She graduated from Xavier University in 2017 with her master’s in clinical mental health counseling. She completed her internship at Cancer Family Care where she worked with individuals and family members impacted by cancer. Becky worked for four years at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in the psychiatric residential program and the emergency department, as well as in adult and adolescent partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, community, school-based, and private practice settings. Becky has served as an adjunct professor at Xavier University and has experience volunteering at Hospice of Cincinnati. Becky is the founder of Strayer Counseling, LLC where she specializes in grief, trauma, and anxiety counseling for adolescents and adults.

Waybridge Counseling will be providing 3 CEU credits for this workshop. Waybridge is a Continuing Education Provider for the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker & Marriage and Family Therapy Board. Continuing Education offered for counselors, social workers and marriage and family therapists: (Provider RCST031802).

 

This program meets the expectations of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as outlined in the Arizona Administrative Code R-46-802 as defined as "activities sponsored or approved by national, regional, or state professional associations or organizations in the specialties of marriage and family therapy, professional counseling, and social work".
