About

My approach to care is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in encouragement and empowerment. I work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique experiences, goals, and strengths. As an Adlerian therapist, I believe in the importance of belonging, connection, and meaning-making. I help clients better understand themselves within the context of their relationships, communities, and life experiences. I also integrate neuroscience-informed approaches to support clients working through developmental and relational issues, trauma, and grief. When requested by the client, I incorporate spirituality as a source of hope, healing, and connection to culture and community. Above all, I believe that situations and experiences do not define us; with insight, support, and intentional growth, people can define who they are and what they want to contribute to the world. My treatment process begins with building a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard and understood. Through assessment, collaborative goal-setting, and evidence-based interventions, I help clients develop insight, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and build resilience. I regularly evaluate progress and adapt treatment to meet evolving needs. Patients can reasonably expect a supportive partnership focused on growth and practical change, as well as tools they can continue using beyond therapy to improve emotional well-being, daily functioning, and overall quality of life.

Professional Achievement

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. My Master’s is in Mental Health Counseling, with a secondary
focus in Marriage and Family Therapy. In 2015, I earned a Ph.D in Counselor Education with a Cognate in
Child and Family Studies. I worked as a college counselor and in a psychiatric hospital before pursuing
my doctorate. I worked as a full-time professor of Counselor Education at NKU and UC before returning to

full-time clinical work at Waybridge. I now teach a Counseling Children and Adolescents course for the
University of the Cumberlands. I have specialized training in play therapy, trauma-informed care,
neuroscience, and couples counseling. I also have formalized training in conducting psychological
evaluations and 504/IEP recommendations for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and comorbid
disorders. I collaborate with schools and the family court to promote the overall well-being of children and
their families.
