About
I approach counseling with the belief that many of our deepest struggles and greatest opportunities for growth emerge in relationship with others and with the stories we carry about who we are. Relationships can also become a powerful context for healing, and the therapeutic relationship offers an opportunity to experience new ways of relating to yourself and others. My work is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, trauma-informed care, somatic awareness, and systems thinking. Whether I am working with an individual or a couple, I strive to create a space that feels warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. Together, we'll slow down enough to understand the patterns that keep people feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, I help clients explore the emotions, experiences, and protective strategies that shape how they move through the world and relate to others.
The counseling process looks different for each person, but it generally begins with developing a clear understanding of your goals, history, strengths, and current challenges. From there, we work to increase awareness, respond to difficult emotions and situations in new ways, and create experiences that support growth, healing, and connection. Clients can reasonably expect to develop greater insight into themselves and their relationships, improve communication and emotional regulation, strengthen their sense of security and self-trust, and build more intentional ways of relating. While therapy cannot eliminate life's challenges, it can help people navigate them with greater resilience, confidence, and a deeper sense of connection.
Professional Achievement
I am currently completing my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the supervision of Dr. Butch Losey, LPCC-S, and I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Before becoming a counselor, I spent years leading teams and managing operations, experiences that deepened my understanding of communication, relationships, conflict, and human behavior. I am also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the international counseling honor society.
