Cincinnati, Ft. Thomas Do you feel like you’re always on high alert, waiting for the other shoe to drop? Are chunks of your life missing, leaving blank spots where memories should be? Do you find yourself replaying certain experiences over and over again? If so, you’re not alone. Over 70% of adults have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Trauma can leave you feeling like you’re fighting for your life, even when you’re perfectly safe. Unlike other mental health issues, trauma is triggered by an outside event that is so terrible, so intolerable that it leaves an imprint on the brain. As a result, the brain might perceive a threat where none exists. This is why months or even years later, you might feel the same way you did when you first experienced trauma. I know first-hand the way trauma colors every aspect of your life. I also know healing is possible, and your past does not have to define you. Counseling can help you move forward. In a calm, safe, and trusting environment, we will work together to help you heal from the past and find the peace-of-mind you’ve been searching for.

Cincinnati Are you always a little on edge? Feeling empty or as if something is unresolved? Intuitively feeling as if a piece of yourself is missing and unsure why or what it is? Let’s work together to help empower you to your highest capabilities and self understanding! My eclectic use of Dialectical Behavioral, Internal Family Systems and EMDR therapies will assist you in gaining a better sense of self, inner peace and deeper self knowledge for a future worth living and loving. I am a general EMDR trained practitioner able to use EMDR for: eating disorders, couples therapy framework, trauma, depression, anxiety, panic, and in general areas of life that seem to be distressing in a cyclical capacity. There is not a “one size fit all” approach to EMDR. It is exceptionally client centered. We will work together to determine the right mechanics for you, within appointments.

Cincinnati, Scottsdale (Virtual) I practice from an individualized approach to meet the unique needs of each person I work with. I believe psychotherapy is a way of reclaiming our painful experiences and accepting them without allowing them to define us. This frees us to move forward based on our values. We can then live with purpose, fulfillment, and security in our relationships. I specialize in the treatment of sexual compulsive behavior. I help clients by utilizing specialized and targeted interventions to initiate and sustain long-term recovery, and restore fractured relationships. I am an accomplished Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) clinician. I treat adolescents and adults. I help clients recover from distressing life experiences, including PTSD, Betrayal Trauma, and all forms of abuse, past and present. My background also provides me a unique expertise in treating first responders and military.
