Couples Symposium 2026:
Couples in Crisis

 March 19-20, 2026 | Cincinnati, Ohio

Call for Proposals
Proposal Submission Deadline: December 5, 2025
Our conference uses a rolling peer review process, meaning submissions are evaluated as they are received and decisions are made promptly after review. This approach allows us to set the conference agenda earlier and gives presenters whose work is not accepted an opportunity to revise and resubmit. We encourage early submission, as the Call for Proposals will close once the conference agenda is full.

In today’s fast-paced, high-stakes world, intimate relationships are under increasing pressure. • Intervene in Crisis Moments: Learn practical, immediate strategies to stabilize relationships on the brink of separation or dissolution, and guide couples through high-stakes, emotionally charged conversations.

  • Manage High-Conflict Dynamics and Communication Challenges: Gain tools to de-escalate conflict, foster healthier communication, and rebuild trust in volatile or emotionally distant relationships.

  • Support Couples Coping with Grief and Loss: Understand how to help partners grieve together, or in parallel, while maintaining connection and navigating the complex emotions surrounding shared or individual loss.

  • Address Betrayal Trauma: Learn effective frameworks for helping couples recover from infidelity and other profound breaches of trust, fostering honest dialogue and pathways toward healing.

  • Strengthen Parenting Partnerships: Explore the intricacies of blended families, co-parenting after separation, and parenting through crisis, with strategies for aligning parenting values and maintaining a cooperative co-parenting relationship.
